Sirius Idaho Theatre will open its fourth season with Sam Shepard's 2004 play, 'The God of Hell'. Sam Shepard, an obie award winning playwright, wrote this play partly in response to the events of September 11, 2001, and subsequent changes in America's cultural and political landscape.
Daniel Bell will play the part of Wisconsin dairy farmer, Frank, and Audrey Bensel, WSU alum and new MFA candidate at the University of Idaho, will play the part of Emma, his wife. Their peaceful middle-American life is destroyed by Mr. Welch, a mysterious, ultra-patriotic government employee, played by John Bagaglio. Richard Wallace will play the part of Frank's old friend, Haynes. Luis Guerrero, who also directed 'A Walk in the Woods' for Sirius Idaho Theatre, will direct this play.
Performances are at 7:30 at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in downtown Moscow on September 27, 28 & 29, and October 5, 6 & 7. There will be an opening night reception immediately following the play on Thursday, September 27, and Kenworthy Film Society pass holders will receive a discount on Sunday, October 7.
