As a premiere production, Sirius Idaho Theatre presented Pyretown, a new play by John Belluso, directed by Pamela Palmer. It was staged at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in October 2004. This was the second production of this play following its world premier at the Geva Theatre Center (Mark Cuddy, artistic director; John Quinlivan, managing director) in Rochester, N.Y., in November 2003.
A 22-yr. old paraplegic man, Harry, falls in love with a middle-aged single mother, Louise, in the midst of her daughter’s health care crisis, while the HMO’s pregnant physician, Rebecca, struggles with the limitations of the system and her own compassion.
