On November 15, 2006, Pam Palmer stepped down as Managing Artistic Director of SIT to pursue other activities. Pam provided the spark that began Sirius Idaho Theatre. Her vision has brought great live theatre to this area. During her time with SIT she directed three productions (Pyretown, The Guys, and Sight Unseen) and she acted in the title role in The Beauty Queen of Leenane.
On January 7, 2007, John Dickinson was involved in a car accident on a bridge over Oregon’s John Day River. His family, friends, and the community continue to grieve in his absence.
"John is the eternal optimist, the peacemaker, the person who marches to a different drummer and comes up with creative solutions, who ironically has spoken with me about not going for compromise but rather working out solutions where everybody wins. That’s John."

The following quote from Marge Betley (American Theatre Magazine. April 2004, pg 62, "How Geva got Harry onstage") speaks to the heart of what theatre can accomplish:
"Question everything. Broaden our view of how and where theatre happens. Realize that the work is not just about the play, but about the relationships that invest themselves in it, the building where it happens and the community where that building sits. It begins with a leap of faith and the willingness to place the value of exploration before the appeal of virtuosity. Sometimes we are rewarded with both."
